National Chocolate Cake Day – hooray!
Did you know it’s National Chocolate Cake Day on January 27? It’s a 252-year-old American tradition, and One Colorado can certainly stand behind and serve up ways to celebrate!
Cut into a warm, ooey gooey Chocolate Volcano cake at Sushi Roku, one of their menu’s most long-lived and loved desserts. Or bite into a delicious slice of Russell’s moist dark chocolate layer cake. Perfect for sharing (only if you are obligated or are feeling magnanimous). Il Fornaio imports a little taste of Italy with their tempting Soffiato Al Cioccolato, an almond hazelnut chocolate cake served warm with a side of caramel sea salt gelato. Molto buona!
If cake is not your jam but you do love your chocolate fix, head to Sage Vegan Bistro for a scoop of chocolate KindKreme, their small batch dairy-free ice cream. Sugarfina will also satisfy your cocoa cravings with their classic crowd-pleaser Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel’s. Or for a zippier treat, reach for their pop rock-infused Sparkle Pops.
And if you want to carry the chocolate theme forward, for Valentine’s Day, iPic Theaters is offering delectable accouterments for a memorable date night. February 14 – 16 enjoy iPic’s Lover’s Delight, featuring Dark Chocolate Gingerbread Bars and Chocolate Covered Strawberries (both available with glasses of bubbly).
