Under the skilled tutelage of The Institute for Art and Olfaction’s founder, Saskia Wilson-Brown, you will learn perfumery and blending basics. Using five aromatic materials of their choice, you will then construct your own scent inspired by the historic and modern landscape and tones of Pasadena. Everyone takes home a 5ml spray vial of their odiferous creation.
Founded in 2012, The Institute for Art and Olfaction is devoted to creative experimentation through cross-modal arts and technology projects, with a focus on scent. Unique for its devotion to exploring paerfumery within the context of the broader contemporary arts context, The Institute for Art and Olfaction produces and supports multi-disciplinary programs that highlight creative applications of scent. Additionally, they provide learning opportunities for people interested in gaining comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of perfumery– from blending to chemistry, history to theory.
